WebAug 24, 2024 · As far as I know, with LDAP/AD, the chsh command doesn't know how to do that, you have to call a separately packaged command chsh.ldap. Note that this changes your shell on all machines using this network account, which means you won't be able to log in on a machine that doesn't have zsh installed (or has it in a different location). Webchsh will accept the full pathname of any executable file on the system. However, it will issue a warning if the shell is not listed in the /etc/shells file. To solve this problem and make zsh the default shell, you should thus: $ sudo echo "$ (which zsh)" >> /etc/shells $ chsh -s $ (which zsh) Obviously, I assume that zsh is in your path here.
